Job Description

Interns provide a variety of essential support to Stern’s PR team members. Through this opportunity, you will be learning about different processes and fundamentals of PR by way of real-world experience. This position is in-person/remote hybrid, requiring up to three days of in-person work in our Iselin, NJ location in Middlesex County.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and updating media lists through Cision and online research
  • Drafting and editing pitches to reporters for press to gain media coverage for clients
  • Drafting and editing press releases
  • Performing research activities
  • Developing conference target lists
  • Performing conference research and vetting
  • Coordinating content creation awards submissions
  • Performing other supportive, ad-hoc tasks related to client work, as needed

Educational Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field

Other Qualifications

  • Candidates must be available to work 20-30 hours a week for a minimum of 12 weeks (360 maximum total hours), starting and ending dates are flexible
  • Candidates will be expected to come to our Iselin, NJ offices up to three days a week and must be available to work remotely up to three days a week
  • At least one excellent reference from a previous internship, faculty or outside employment

Pay: $15-20 per hour
