Writer/Content Specialist - Stern Speakers

The Writer/Content Specialist for Stern Speakers uses experience, research skills and knowledge of current and historical events to develop compelling written materials (articles/blogs, messaging/positioning, web and social media content, newsletters, speakers’ bios and speech topics, etc.), generate ideas and deliver results by writing for a variety of formats. They play an ongoing role supporting the marketing functions for the Speakers Agency. A Writer/Content Specialist also uses experience and expertise to review the writings of others, make sound recommendations for changes and generally elevate the writing capabilities of the entire agency through thorough and accurate proofreading of the writing of others.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Develop strong understanding of the Speakers Agency business, its marketing strategy and the work and perspectives of its exclusive speakers’ roster, and reflect that knowledge effectively in compelling written materials that uniquely position speakers as subject matter experts
  • Independently manage multiple writing projects with speed and fluency while delivering accurate work on schedule; write up to 3 pieces per day
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt writing style for a variety of formats long and short-form content, web copy, newsletters, etc.
  • Demonstrate a highly accurate working knowledge of AP style
  • Deliver a high volume of accurately proofread materials within deadlines
  • Identify and foresee issues with speakers’ communications strategy and seek creative solutions to resolve them
  • Proof and edit a broad range of communications and marketing materials
  • Independently research and develop original content, including but not limited to web copy, marketing content, pitch letters, etc.

Team Participation and Cooperation

  • Participate in Speakers team brainstorming sessions, speaker calls and meetings
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team and account executives to position speakers effectively
  • Provide regular updates on progress of activities; develop, maintain and share up-to-date project tracking reports

New Business

  • Prepare, edit, print and mail form letters from HubSpot
  • Create and update HubSpot letter templates and speaker blurbs
  • New speaker onboarding: create brief to introduce new speaker to team


  • Stern Speakers Website updating and maintenance including adding content, changing front page display, links, featured articles and “New to Stern” as well as update “About” section with new colleagues.
