A supporter of environment issues, President Obama continues to educate constituents on the importance of environmental responsibility as he sets the ball in motion for solar panels to be installed on the White House roof by springtime of 2011. With this push for energy efficiency at the nation’s most important residency, Obama is clearly issuing a call to action for an increased use of renewable energy resources. In fact, it is the hope of many green advocacy groups that this project will incite an uptick in the general population’s use of more energy-saving options.
While solar panels for every home might be a stretch, there are options for the average household to consider, such as LED light bulbs, ENERGY STAR rated appliances or by simply being more diligent about turning off the lights. Remember with a few small steps we can make great strides in saving the planet.
