Isabella Loaiza is a computational social scientist at the MIT Sloan School of Management who is committed to building an equitable and sustainable future of work. Her research especially focuses on understanding the impact of technology on the future workforce. She also explores AI’s impact on work, workers, and organizational talent practices, with a human-centered approach that emphasizes human-AI complementarities.

Loaiza’s research ultimately seeks to understand and address social inequities. Some of her key research interests include automation and augmentation dynamics, skilling and reskilling, labor inequalities, and sustainable skills. By using computational methods, network science, and statistical techniques, Loaiza creates insights that empower individual workers and entire workforces.

Loaiza’s previous contributions focused on using digital trace data to address social and policy questions. She earned her MS and Ph.D. at the MIT Media Lab while working with renowned researcher Alex Pentland.
